Sam Keevers is a graduate of the QLD Conservatorium of Music, the Victorian College of the Arts and the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS).
Since moving to Melbourne in 1991 he has been active on Australia’s live music scene as a side-person and as a leader.
Sam has performed with such artists as Vince Jones, Kate Ceberano, Scott Tinkler, Chris Potter, Bobby Previte, Joe Lovano, John Scofield, Ron Carter, Katie Noonan, Gary Pinto, Ricky Lee Jones, Jamie Oehlers, Archie Roach, Bernie McGann, Meshell Ndegeocello, Kristin Beradi, Gian Slater, Michelle Nicolle, Stephen Magnusson and many others. Sam has been a semi-finalist for the Jazz Piano Awards at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival twice, a finalist for the Freedman Jazz Fellowship and has been nominated for Green Room, Bell and ARIA awards.
Sam is currently musical director for critically acclaimed cabaret artist Ali Mcgregor and is a tutor at the Victorian College of the Arts as well as leading a piano trio with bassist Christopher Hale and drummer Danny Fischer.
