Consisting of some of the cream of Roots & Blues players, they’ve won countless awards over the years and backed up many international artists such as Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Holmes Brothers, Albert King, Charlie Musselwhite, The Fabulous T-Birds, Joe Loius Walker and were Muddy Waters’ son Mud Morganfield touring band at the 2017 Byron Bay BLUESFEST.
Their premiere show, back in 1990, was a two night double bill with the legendary Dutch Tilders where they formed a great musical bond and in turn were picked up by BLUES CLUB RECORDS in Victoria, Australia, to record their first EP/compilation in 1994 called Deep South ” SA Rhythm & Blues. This won them “Best New R&B Band” and runner up “Best Blues Song” for their song “Hummingbird” at the Lithgow Blues Festival. Seven albums later, they have continued to win many awards including 2019 “Best Blues Album” by the Adelaide Roots & Blues Association for their new release “Kicking Back the Blues” with great radio and magazine reviews. The album was also in the top 5 finalist for the 2019 international “Memphis Blues Awards” for best independent Roots & Blues release and has also charted number 1 in the National Australian Blues Charts for 2020.
Having played many major festivals around Australia, their live shows are a mixture of soul, blues and roots music where the band is renown for their fiery improvisational stage jams that go way beyond their 6 studio albums. They are a “must see” live band. Their music have been compared to such artists as the Allman Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service and early Fleetwood Mac yet with their own unique sound and stamp on Blues and Roots music.
