Program to be announced on Wednesday 30 September
Following the Victorian Premier’s Covid roadmap announcement, the Board of the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues confirms the 2020 festival will proceed as an online event from Monday October 26 to Sunday November 1st.
In recent months the festival had developed a mix of both in person and online presentation options. Whilst the road map provides a better understanding of the way forward, it also presents challenges, so in light of the restrictions within the announcement, it is not feasible to proceed with live audience events this year.
“Despite everything, we are very keen to present a festival in 2020. Whilst this isn’t how we intended to celebrate our 30th anniversary, we are delighted to be able to support artists and provide audiences with some wonderful concerts regardless of these challenging times”, said Wangaratta Festival of Jazz & Blues Chair, Dave Fuller.
In 2019 the Board and the artistic team had decided on an all-Australian theme program as fitting to celebrate the anniversary festival. The full program and streaming details will be announced on Wednesday 30 September.
“We look forward to presenting an exciting online event that showcases what the Wangaratta community, the festival and the National Jazz Awards have contributed to developing Australian talent through the years” Mr Fuller said.
