Wangaratta Jazz and Blues is an incorporated not-for-profit cultural body. It is governed by a highly skilled and experienced volunteer Board.
Dave is a Wangaratta local and a current Councillor for the Rural City. He is Chair of the Chamber of Commerce and involved in a range of community organisations. His focus is to engage with the community to build a diverse and viable future for the generations of today that don’t get a say.
Michael has strong interpersonal dynamics competencies and has a demonstrated capacity to work effectively with individuals and organisations at all levels. Michael is a Nationally-Accredited Mediator with over 18 years experience in mediation and facilitation in the government and private sectors, working both with individuals and teams.
Emma is a senior executive with significant experience across complext environments, including legal, commercial, tertiary education, health and medical research. Her qualifications and experience in law, medical science and public health, have enabled her to develop and nurture complex research partnerships and networks. Emma’s passion for the arts is grounded in a Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of Adelaide.
Josh Kane is a finance and technology operations specialist, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from Melbourne Polytechnic. His work falls mostly across the music and events space, with a focus working for not-for-profit and community-first organisations.
It’s his experience and belief in the power of music – and its capacity to improve peoples lives – that drives not just his work, but his life. Josh has many years of experience working in events and for-purpose organisations, with an incredible track record for supporting organisations as they expand and grow.
Dr Sean Foran is a musician/research/educator from Brisbane. Most known for his work with the contemporary jazz trios TRICHOTOMY & BERARDI/FORAN/KARLEN he has received the prestigious Brisbane City Council’s Lord Mayors Emerging Artist Fellowship, AMC/APRA Award for Excellence in Jazz, APRA Professional Development Award for Jazz and the QLD Music Award multiple times. His current research involves acoustic improvisation and improvising with electronics, popular music education, and sustainability in festival programming.

Leanne Mulcahy, General Manager
Leanne is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and is a Non-Executive Director with more than 15 years’ experience in not-for-profit organisations. She serves on the Victorian Local Governance Association’s Governance & Risk Committee and the AICD’s local Advisory Committee.
Leanne has served in senior leadership roles across local government, employment services and the dairy industry. In 2019 Leanne was pleased to be awarded a Victorian Rural Women’s Network scholarship to complete the 12-month AICD Directors’ Nexus program and she has completed an MBA through RMIT.
